Monaghan and Donegal clash in an Ulster Senior Football Championship quarter-final this afternoon, with the match taking place in Clones.
After three entertaining quarter-finals, there is just one more semi-final to go as these sides go head-to-head.
With Down claiming a less-than-convincing win over Fermanagh on Saturday, the victors of today’s game will be strongly fancied to progress to an Ulster final.
Defending champions Donegal have an impressive victory under their belt already after they put Derry to the sword in the preliminary round, winning by 10 points in Ballybofey.
However, it wasn’t a perfect performance from Jim McGuinness’s men and Monaghan will feel confident themselves after a strong start to the 2025 campaign.
Gabriel Bannigan’s men claimed promotion back to Division One after beating Roscommon in the Division Two final.
Monaghan and Donegal won five Ulster titles in-a-row between 2011 and 2015 with the Farney beating Donegal in the 2013 and ’15 deciders.
For the first time in 18 seasons, Monaghan go into the Championship arena without Conor McManus. Jack McCarron, Mícheál Bannigan and David Garland and others will need to prove they can step up and land the key scores in the big games. They don’t come much bigger than hosting the Ulster champions in Clones.
We’ll have all the latest build-up and team news ahead of throw-in at 2pm.
